Pilates videos
The "Movement of the Month©" will highlight a specific Pilates movement in a featured section of our monthly newsletter "Path to Wellness." Here you will find videos demonstrating and explaining the benefits and execution of various movements performed in our Beachwood, Ohio Pilates studio.   Your certified Fundamental Movement Pilates Instructor will help you determine if these movements are appropriate for your specific needs.

The Standing Turtle

Helps:
  *  clients with tight backs & hamstrings
  *  create space in vertebrae
  *  encourage proper hip flexion & joint movement

Reverse Leg-Press

Helps:
  * ease back pain                * Stretch & balance hamstrings
  * elongate lumbar spine     * stabilize sacro-iliac joint
  * enhance proprioception of sacral ligament

Hug-A-Tree

Helps:
 * improve posture and core strength      * encourage efficient Scapular movement

 * open chest and allow freer breathing  * strengthen Pec and Rhomboids
 
 * sore necks and rolled shoulders


Gator-

Helps:

 * encourage freedom of movement in shoulders & hip joints.

 * synchronizes upper & lower body movments while torso remains stable.

 * strengthen Deep Abdominals, Lats, Adductors, Hamstrings, Paraspinals.


"Bow & Arrow"

Helps:
*  strengthen rhomboids, obliques, rotator cuff and cervical spine      muscles

*  improve thoracic spine rotation

*  synchronize movement between triceps, rotator cuff muscles, lats and low back

*  students with scoliosis

"Leg-Progressions on Reformer"

Helps:
  *  open hip & knee joints
  *  re-educate proper lower extremity joint movement
  *  expose and eliminate compensation in upper body and back
  *  reduces impact of negative velocity in joints
  *  elongates spine
