Lavender for..........
Young Living Essential Oil Summer Uses and Testimonials Shared by Ruby Gibson
Sunscreen: I received a message about using Young Living Lavender in avocado oil as a sunscreen. I mixed 4 oz of avocado oil with 30 drops of lavender and applied it liberally to my arms before going out to work in the garden for 3 hours in the midday sun. Not only did I not get sunburned, there isn't a hint of additional color on my hands, arms or face. To be honest, I questioned whether it would truly block the sun but I can now testify that it works for me.
Dr. Sabina DeVita has written a book called "Saving Face" (available at www.essentialscience.net). It has a suncreen and sunblock recipe: "Certain natural vegetable oils and essential oils have been found to provide some protection against the sun. Sesame oil can block or reduce about 30% of the burning rays; coconut and olive oils about 20%, and aloe vera inhibits about 20%. Helichrysum oil has been researched for its ability to effectively screen out some of the sun's rays."
Sunblock: Mix 3-6 drops Helichrysum with 100 drops of sesame oil or olive oil. Apply on skin every few hours.
Sunscreen: 1 oz. sesame oil, 1/2 oz. coconut oil, 1/2 oz. olive oil, 10 drops Helichrysum, 5 drops Lavender, 3 drops Chamomile. Mix and apply.

Bruising: One of my friends had an unfortunate incident over the weekend. With the recent rainy weather, the window frames in her home were expanding and sticking when they tried to close them. She had her fingers on the sill when her adult son pushed with a mighty shove to close the window. It bounced off her fingers and she told me "I poured almost the whole bottle of lavender on my fingers". Her son said he thought the window hadn't really hurt her fingers when he saw there were no marks on her hand and fingers at all. She told me the immediate pain was exquisite, but completely vanished after applying the oils. I saw her hand today and there isn't a mark or bruise on her fingers. There is still a bit of tenderness on the 3rd finger when she flexes it, but otherwise no consequences from the injury and treatment with lavender. - Ethel Olson .
Lavender Essential Oil
High-Elevation Lavender, produced from flowers naturally grown in the mountain regions of France, is considered the most exquisite of this variety. It is the same plant species as other Lavenders, simply extracted from specimens grown in its native higher elevations where the plant tends to produce the greatest amount of the fragrant oil. We've sampled several Lavenders, and found this one to be very 'complete', with a great depth to its aroma. Its aroma is somewhat more earthy compared to wildcrafed variety.
